This is my second time to Manhattan Fish Market at Lotte Shopping Avenue
This time, there is promo from the mall; buy one get one free for certain menu for quite a lot of tenants there. MFM participated and the special menu was fish and chips cherry snapper. We opted for the large and it was huge.
It was good, however I personally feel that the cherry snapper has a bit of fishy smell. Not sure if it is the fish’s own characteristic or the fish was not that fresh. Anyway, I prefer MFM than Fish and Co as their fried stuff feels lighter.
Yes, I do love Japanese food so most of my food adventure is going to be about trying out Japanese food eateries wherever I am.
A couple of weeks ago, I read post on Marufuku. Some people say their food is truly authentic Japanese food with heavenly taste so it sparked my curiousity.
We went to try this restaurant about last week just few days after Eid Holiday so the traffic was considerably smoother around town.
Marufuku is located at blok M area in a neighbourhood called little Tokyo here in Jakarta. Honestly, I found the area a bit creepy. Lots of pubs and clubs mixed with a lot of Japanese restaurant. No wonder the area is called little Tokyo.
As we sat down and ordered the food, we realized that we were the only ones not Japanese there (apart from the staff). All other guests were Japanese.
Ordered chicken katsu curry rice, salmon aburo sushi, gyoza, agedashi tofu. Loved their curry rice, gyoza and agedashi tofu but nothing special about the sushi.

My friend recommended Taimei and said that it is better than the usual fried chicken. So I bought coupon from Disdus with high expectation for it.
And I love it!
It’s crispy and tasty!
Went to Sushi World again for the third time now. This time is because I purchased deal from LivingSocial for 1 appetizer, 3 sushi and 2 drink for less than IDR200k (cant remember exactly how much).
The sushi there is quite tasty. Definitely not the best but one that I wouldn’t mind going back for sushi again and again. Especially when the popular sushi chain prices keep going up.
So we ordered chicken karage, dragon roll, wow wow sushi and sushi world roll. Nothing too fancy but all were tasty.

I always love kwetiaw no matter how they cooked it. I just like the texture and taste of the rice noodle. So we went to Kwetiaw Aciap for lunch today.
It’s halal so no pork but it’s soooo good 🙂 almost as good as the non-halal Medan version of kwetiaw that I deeply love.
This was my second time having kwetiaw bun. When I first tried it, the shop assistant told me that kwetiaw bun is half fried and half siram (what is the english word for siram?).
It’s just perfect, not too dry and not too soupy.
At first I thought the place would be like any other soto eateries (small shop along the street) but I was surprised to find out that they have their own building: one very big house just for them.
The soto itself is quite good. I ordered two coz the serving is pretty small. The taste and serving size is similar to soto in Semarang. Tried their side dishes (perkedel and tempe bacem) and they are good too. Three of us ate six bowls of soto :’)

If you craved for Medan style kwetiaw with the charcoal flavour, Kwetiaw Ayong can be one of the place to go.
I prefer this or Cie Mei rather than Akang. They opened at 6.30pm til midnite. Total costs (two special fried kwetiaw, one plain fried kwetiaw and 4 drinks) were IDR83k
